The Chakras
The Chakras can be thought of as ‘energy wheels’ vertically aligned in the body. They influence and indicate flows of energy up and down the body. Each chakra / wheel is associated with a color, a lotus with a specific number of petals, and several foods and factors that can influence that chakra’s wellbeing.
In the world of yoga, keeping the chakras in balance is key for a healthy and peaceful life. When one or more become imbalanced, the symptoms can show up in a person physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. There are often natural and holistic ways to bring the chakras back into balance.
There are tons of resources in books and online about the chakras! One of my favorite books that goes really in depth about the chakras is “Eastern Body, Western Mind” by Anodea Judith.
